It is not only essential to increase an individual's knowledge, broaden their range of opportunities and expand their personal growth; so too, reading is crucial to the overall development of countries. The foundation promotes a culture of reading in society.
South Africa only spends 5% of its total health budget on mental health – putting South Africa at the bottom of international benchmarks of country public spending on mental health.
The foundation works to help de-stigmatise mental illness, and to lobby for increased resources for mental health treatment.
South Africa and many developing countries have a wide digital divide – the gap between those who have access to technology, resources and digital literacy, and those who do not.
The foundation supports efforts to reduce the digital divide, increase digital literacy and expand digital skills.
